Where Deep Healing Meets True Rest
Our Story · Erda, Utah

Born of the land. Shaped by stillness

We are a small studio of practitioners gathered in the high desert, where the canyon walls keep a longer measure of time than we do. This is the story of how we came to listen.

A practice that began with

a long walk.

Utah Wellness Retreats began with a question, asked in 2014 by our founder on the slow walk back to her truck after three days alone in the slot canyons south of Hanksville. The question was simple: why does the body remember how to rest here, and forget the moment I leave?

The answer she has spent a decade chasing is not a technique or a protocol. It is a place — and a way of being inside that place — that the high desert has been quietly teaching the people who live near it for as long as anyone has been here. We are not the first to notice. We are simply the latest in a long line of listeners.

What began as solo retreats in a borrowed yurt has grown, carefully, into a small studio of practitioners in Erda, Utah, and a calendar of guided retreats deeper into red rock country. We have grown slowly and on purpose. The land does not ask us to be larger. It asks us to be more here.

Founded 2014 · Erda, Tooele Valley, Utah

A path shaped by
the land itself.

Every chapter of our work has been written in conversation with red rock country. These are the moments that shaped who we are.

  1. 2014

    A question in the canyon

Timeline Entry 1 — Body items › body Our founder completes a three-day solo retreat in the canyons south of Hanksville and begins guiding small groups the following spring. The work has no name yet, only a rhythm.

  2. 2016

    The first studio

We open a small treatment room on the edge of Erda, Utah. One practitioner, one table, a kettle on the stove. The Wasatch sits one direction; the red rock the other.

  3. 2019

    Multi-day retreats begin

We host our first four-day retreat in the San Rafael Swell, designed around silence, slow walks, and ceremonial meals. The shape of our retreat program is set during these four days, and has changed very little since.

  4. 2021

    The apothecary

We begin producing a small line of plant-based cleanses and tinctures, formulated with herbalists in Boulder, Utah, from wild and cultivated desert botanicals.

  5. 2024

    The full circle

A second studio opens, doubling our capacity for in-person sessions. Our team grows to six practitioners. The yurt where it all began is still in use — for guests who ask.

We do not heal anyone. / We make a quiet enough room / for the body to remember it already knows how.

— A working principle of the studio

Three principles,
quietly kept.

We are not in the business of producing transformation. We are in the business of preparing the ground, and trusting the rest to a landscape and a body that have done this work far longer than we have.

— I —

Reverence

We treat the land, the body, and the time we are given with the same care. None of these are ours. We are guests in all three.

— II —

Craft

Every protocol, every product, every meal is made slowly, by hand, with attention. We will never scale at the cost of the work itself.

— III —

Hospitality

You arrive tired. You leave rested. Everything in between — the welcome, the food, the silence, the goodbye — is held with the same intention.

The hands and hearts
behind the work.

Each of our practitioners brings years of devoted study and a deep listening to the land that shapes us. Meet the people who hold space for your journey.

What guests have said about the work.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

I have done a lot of retreats. This one didn't try to do anything to me. It just made room. I came home changed in a way I couldn't name for weeks, and the change has held.

The food alone was worth the trip. The silence was worth the rest of the trip. I have been to a lot of beautiful places. This one taught me something I am still learning.
